Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with mea prayer to the
God of my life. Psalm 42:7-8 NIV
Every lapping wave echoes your love. Your voice, relentless as the pounding surf of the ocean, calls my name, draws me nearer. Wave after wave of loving kindness, breaker after breaker of encouraging words, and cascading downpours of your Holy Spirit refresh and restore.
Your words slap against my stubbornness as the ocean waves slap against the stony cliffs. The walls of rock eventually hollowed by the surf as your persistence molds and smoothes my life. You call out again and again, offering a rescue plan, a way of redemption. Calling me to go deeper.
I step away from the shore and timidly ease into the water, allowing the foam to wash against my ankles, swirl around my legs. I take another step and brace myself as a growing swell approaches the shore. The fierce wave washes over me, dislodging wrong perceptions, removing old hindrances, and draws me into its wake. I surrender to a force greater than anything Ive known. In this place of surrender is pure joy.
Oh Lord, all your waves and breakers sweep over me. Deep calls to deep in the roar of your rushing water. Let me sing your song in the night. You alone are the God of my life.
